Les Misérables - The Mercury Theater production of Les Misérables by Victor Hugo was broadcast July 23 – September 3, 1937 on the Mutual Broadcasting System. The radio play was written, directed by and starred Orson Welles. This adaptation of the Victor Hugo novel was Welles' first turn as a writer-director for radio (he began acting on radio in 1934.) Welles was 22 years old at the time of this production. The seven episodes are as follows:

Produced in England, the series ran from 1951 - 1952. The ten episodes featured here were written by Orson Welles.
